The unit is aligned at the rear left of the truck bed and contains a 55-inch long top-oriented storage compartment, as well as three siding drawers beneath this, that pull out to the rear. Truck beds are overwhelmingly dominated by straight lines, accept the area around fenderwells which oftentimes means that this space can be inefficiently used. The UWS FW-55-DS-D 55-inch Driver Side Fenderwell Box with Drawer Slide is designed to change that. A truck-specific, multi-compartment storage solution, the UWS FW-55-DS-D is designed to provide access to items both from the exterior driver's side of truck bed rails and at the rear of the truck when the tailgate is down. The unit sits on top of the fenderwell and stretches back to the interior edge of the tailgate, utilizing this space extended back on a level plain to the tailgate, for a large single door top compartment well-suited for a variety of larger tools. In addition, the space between the curved rear edge of the fenderwell back towards the tailgate on a level plain is used for three vertically aligned sliding drawers, perfect for smaller tools, parts and more.

Accessed from the driver's side rail, the UWS FW-55-DS-D measures 55-inches (l) x 8-inches (w) x 23¼-inches (h), and provides 4.3-cubic feet of storage capacity. Its 0.063-inch aluminum tread plate construction features fully welded seams that will not rust even in the toughest of weather conditions. The lid of the box -- which sits 4-inches above bed rails -- is beveled, resulting in fewer sharp edges and a cable is integrated into its underside that connects to the box, holding the lid open at just over 90-degrees using gravity. The three drawers at the tailgate are integrated into zinc-plated sliding hardware that ensure their smooth movement regardless of weather conditions and they include dividers that can be used to organize small items. Once items are loaded in the box's compartments, patented MicroSeal stripping along the contact points between lid and box help to seal out moisture, dust and dirt. Finally, the unit is lockable at both the top and rear compartments, allowing for maximum security wherever your job takes you.
